I heard a lot of that between 12:00 a.m. and just a few minutes ago. But what does all of that mean anyway? Do we consider it a new year simply because the numbers are different; 2010 has changed into 2011? What is new about the year if everything remains the "same-ole-same-ole"? Same 'ole' bills; same 'ole' worries and problems; same 'ole' unmet dreams and unaccomplished resolutions from since we begun making resolutions - just the same 'ole' routine!
I have never been one to make resolutions at the beginning of the year[I thought]. I find those things a bit too gratuitous, perhaps. However, can we really escape resolutions; resolving to not make resolution is in itself a resolution. Is it not? I resolve this year to make 2011, indeed a new year:
1. New Beginnings
2. New Perspective on life
3. New Hope
4. New Vision
5. New Attitude
6. New Ventures: including my clothing line, my book and YES, seeing new places.
I believe that a NEW year should be about newness. And perhaps a new year should not even be about a 12 month limitation.

To move forward in NEWNESS it is imperative that we set aside the fetters that we had allowed to limit us previously and to shake ourselves loose. I had placed limitations on myself because of my youth or looks or lack of training in a particular area or lack of finance. Those self imposed boundaries impair vision and stifle dreams; becoming the realities we give life to through our own thoughts.
But NO more!!! I refuse to be limited or worse yet, to limit myself. I allow myself to embrace all of life's opportunities/challenges and to learn from them. I will soar this year and that is what will make my year NEW. It is not going to be like other year. Now, I AM FINALLY FREEEEEEEEE!!!!
